the setup continues and he is really tall
After the dinner party came the hike. Foreshadowing for the day came in the parking lot as he pulled into the spot next to mine. I waved and said "hi" and then ran like a startled rabbit to my friend's apartment. We all spent the day together, and I was, in my typical style, unable to effectively communicate with this new person. Alternating between short pained conversations and more running to the safety of my friends. I don't know how I have ever made any friends with my social anxiety issues, and who knows why he agreed to see me again after that. Most people don't hang around long enough to break through the nearly ironclad shell I've been constructing since junior high. After spending some more time together the last couple weeks, I have discovered that he is intelligent, nice, cute, funny and eats tofu. What more could a girl ask for!
And now for some math: he is 6'9" tall, I'm 4'11" tall (4'11" short might be more appropriate) that is a difference of 22", almost 2 feet!

I feel that although you do have an 'iron clad shell' (although I prefer to think of you as just 'a tough nut to crack') it's well worth the exertion. How long did it take me? Three months? It would have taken longer, I bet, if we hadn't been bonded together against a common enemy. You the tough nut, me the cracked nut. We make a good nut spread.
Hearts to you and thanks, by the way, for coming to hear me read all sorts of stories that you already know, and extend the love to Evan as well.
